Your Foundation

June 18, 2017 in Nourished Body, Nourished Mind

To conclude the sermon on the mount, where Jesus gives instructions on how to live an abundant life, he tells a parable about two people: one who built a house on sand and one who built a house on rock. When turbulent weather came, the house with the firm foundation was the only one left standing.

Your foundation, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, determines your ability to weather life when it gets rough.

With almost 30 million people, approximately 10% of the US population, struggling with high glucose and 86 million struggling with prediabetes (Centers for Disease Control), it's time to get to all of our why's? Why are we eating enriched flour, bleached flour, white flour products, puffed grain products, factory-made modern soy? How do we break the cycle? Do we have the knowledge to do so?

Removing processed carbs from our diet is one of the secret weapons to reducing sugar cravings once and for all.

What would happen if we all started to eat to nourish our bodies, rather than to stuff them and satisfy every craving? What would happen if we made our food choices based on what we needed in a given day rather than what was handed to us through a window?

Not sure how to nourish your body with food or how to eat based on your need for nutrients vs. cravings? Let me introduce you to a powerful tool that can help you learn these things and so much more.

What Are Living Wellness Growth Groups?

Living Wellness Growth Groups are a new approach to achieving a healthy balance of one’s mind, body, and spirit. Rather than just focusing on weight loss, growth group participants find lasting health through discovering their ‘root why.’ Think about a tree with deep roots underground. When we begin to answer self-examining questions, we often think of the first thing that pops into our minds. These are often surface answers. When we dig a little deeper, under the surface, we begin to find our roots, our motives behind our decisions. Your ideals about health started when you were very young. Why do you make the choices you do? What causes lasting change? Who is God calling you to be in this season?

Living Wellness Growth Groups provide a safe space for people to be and become who God created them to be. The growth groups are similar to small-group book studies, where participants come to discuss and discover what happens when one connects the health of his or her whole body, mind, and spirit. But the group doesn’t end with discussion. The format includes a grocery store tour, hands-on practice, journaling, stretching and exercise, and daily accountability.

No matter where you are in your journey, your health plays a major role in your ability to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. Achieving balance in our lives becomes clear when our desires fade away as God’s desires for our lives take the driver’s seat.

Living Wellness Growth Groups create space for self-reflection and discovery that will take you from fitness to wellness, from nutrition to wholeness, and from health all the way to abundant life! Every step of this journey will bring you closer to who you are created to be if you daily invite God into your struggles and accomplishments.

You are worth more than mediocre. You are worth exceptional health!
