Well friends, tomorrow marks the last day of our #LWGG30Day Challenge. Thank you for sharing this journey with me and supporting me as I challenged myself with my wellness goals.
My hope is that over this past month, you found our wellness challenge posts to be inspiring. Inspiring you to nourish your body with different types of exercise. Inspiring you to fill your body with foods that not only satisfy your hunger but nourish your body with the building blocks it needs for health. Inspiring you to take time for yourself. And inspiring you to put nourishing your body, mind, and spirit at the forefront of your mind in order to worship God, honor God, and serve God more fully.
Two weeks ago, I shared with you in this post my progress with the Living Wellness 30 Day Challenge, what exercises I found I enjoyed, and a few take-aways that I learned from this challenge.
Today, I'd like to share with you one final take-away.
“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
— Eleanor Brownn
Nourishing my body through exercise is one act of self-care I have been avoiding in many, many seasons of my life. My reasons for avoiding exercise are many, but my go-to excuse is that I simply do not have the time.
Over this past month, through developing a habit of exercise, I have come to realize something. As I took time for myself, time to nourish my body with exercise, there was more of me leftover for everything else during the day.
The moments I took daily to exercise multiplied my energy which helped me to be more present during every other moment of my day. You know what this made my days feel like? I felt as though I had more time during the day!
I'm reminded of Matthew 6:27 which asks, "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Oh how I've tried to worry myself more time only to find I have less time because the worry was fruitless. During this wellness challenge, I've learned that nourishing my body with exercise I enjoy gives my body the energy it needs to be more present and this has given me more time for everything else.
As we close out this 30 day challenge, let's continue to make wellness plans, track our progress, and celebrate our successes and challenges. Let's continue to support each other on our journey of living wellness.
You are worth more than mediocre. You are worth exceptional health!
